Does your hair stylist give you new haircut ideas?

Every time I go to get my hair cut I always ask the stylist, do you have any ideas on how my hair would look better. A new part, a shorter or longer cut a new color etc. They always say, "that is your decision sir" I would like to get new ideas from someone who has never met me and may see me different than I see myself. Is that to much to ask?
