What are some major social issues in Canada right now?

I need to write an opinion paper about a social issue in Canada - any suggestions? Preferably a debatable topic, such as euthanasia or abortion. Please do not recommend abortion, death penalty, GM foods, segregated schools, or conlfict diamonds.

1. The proposed law that all Canadian citizens be issued wool hats is OK in my book. The Molson beer proposal is good. The referendum about that crazy Canuck dude who made me welcome is also good. The grilled cheese sandwich law is really too much.
2. Immigration.Have you any idea how many immigrants are at large undocumented in Canada.Thousands and no one knows where they are.
3. Afghanistan. Should you still be there + the torture business. Or there's always fighting in hockey. They love to talk about that.
4. Climate change. It is a serious problem to Canada especially the North.
5. the incredible rise in anti semitism the economy and its affect on the poor lenient sentencing for serious youth crime
6. Having a province, Quebec, that has laws against all non-Franco citizens that are as racist and xenophobic as anything the Nazis or Rhodesians & Apartheid era South Africans ever had.
