is it illegal to have a performance muffler in philadelphia? or if its too loud? of if its to wide? how about intake is it illegal to have a short ram intake or cold air intake in philadelphia? wouldnt pepboys only sell them if they are legal i the area?

1. Yes it would be illegal in any state. Intakes aren't that loud so you don't need to worry about it.
2. WHY HULLO THAR. I lived in Philly for five years. The city law is that you cannot violate a certain amount of noise from an exhaust system (or stereo, or party, or whatever), but there's no problem with the dimensions of your exhaust system. How loud is too loud? That depends entirely on your car.
