If Republicans and Democrats traded their positions on social issues, who would you pick?
If Republicans and Democrats switched their positions on social issues (gay marriage, abortion, religious issues, etc) so that Republicans would be pro-gay marriage and pro choice and Democrats would be pro-life and anti-gay marriage, and they still kept their positions on other issues same, who would you vote for?

- I would then vote Republican... because they would finally be pro-freedom, limited government conservatives rather than whatever-the-heck they are now.
- That's a hard question. I guess I'd be Republican because their economic ideas aren't that different anyway.
- Make the republicans anti-war, then you'd have libertarians. Libertarianism is the only logical choice when dealing with the party system.
- As usual, I'd be balancing trade-offs in specific policies, rather than voting for one party consistently.
- Who?
- You have just thrown the entire USA into CHAOS. This is like "unknowingly crossing a one way street", from the right. You look left as usual, step off the curb and get hit from the right".
- I've always been nonpartisan and have never voted along party lines. I'm socially liberal, but fiscally conservative, with the understanding that any civilized society cares for the poor, sick and weak in their society (in other words, we need a social safety net). I'm also very into personal freedoms - legalization of drugs and prostitution so they can be safely regulated and taxed, gun ownership with controls to make sure they are used only by those who are responsible gun owners (I own a lot of guns myself) who know how to use them safely, etc. I used to like McCain oh-so-many-years ago. Then he turned into Grandpa from The Simpsons and started running around, screaming at clouds and just being generally crazy. Now I'm kind of hoping General Tommy Franks runs some day. He was an excellent commanding officer and would make a good president, I think.
