Do you think fiscal or social issues are the most important thing when considering whom to vote for?
Personally, I think fiscal issues are much more important, since they effect everyone directly. Whereas, most social issues target certain groups (i.e. gay marriage, abortion). Basing your vote on social issues, seems to me to be kind of selfish in most cases. For example, gays voting for a candidate just because they are pro gay marriage.

- Fiscal issues are more important. Social issues are sometimes used as a distraction from fiscal issues.
- They both carry a lot of weight, but for me it is the fiscal issues. I think social issues are volatile, so to speak, in that they may matter a lot this election, but not even be an issue later.
- they are pretty much equally important, but I would have to choose social issues, as they can be fatal issues in more cases than fiscal issues can.
- I think fiscal. I know when my household is more fiscally stable, I am more willing to support and donate to social groups, organizations etc. I also agree, fiscal issues effect EVERYONE! Social programs are for select groups. I may fall into them, or I may not.
- I think they're fairly entertwined, and fiscal conservatives always try to seperate them. Otherwise, there would be no "In God we Trust" on money. It's a conundrum.
