  1. mooses on the highways, too much fraggin snow, and maybe something aboot speech impediments. jk. pfft haha i know jack about Canada
  2. Number one has to be employment, the big three car makers are in some deep mud right now. Which in turn affects so many. The deflated dollar, health care and like the US terrorists, and right now Pirates trying to take ships and Airplanes. One at a time, the people have sucked up and tightened their belts just about all they can at this point. Experts put the number of undocumented immigrants in Canada at between 100,000 and 200,000 people. It is illegal for companies in Canada to hire undocumented workers—they can face fines and even jail time—but this law is rarely enforced. Many illegal immigrants in Canada are failed refugee claimants who never leave the country, or people who overstay visas. Illegal immigrants are most numerous in the construction and hospitality industries. "It isn't as big a problem as in the United States, but it is still a problem," "There are a fair number of people who are working in the underground economy in British Columbia, in Vancouver, and in Toronto, who are being paid less (than the legal minimum) and are being exploited" . Thank you
  3. Too much immigration. Dwindling domestic production of necessary goods, e.g. textiles. Too much interference in our internal affairs, esp. by the USA.
  4. if it is in regard to social work here are some issue i think are poignant 1) poverty: Poverty is a big deal in Canada in every city there are children whose parents are barely able to support them, they are malnourished, under dressed and the school system isn't set up in a way to provide them with the help they need Social work: most obviously childrens aid and social services try to keep tabs on these kids ensuring they have food, and clothing and are not neglected or abused at home 2) mental illness: perhaps not a pressing issue but social workers help support the mentally ill. a great portion of the homeless suffer from mental illness, often abandoned by society and their families they end up on the streets. Social workers provide these people with the medical care they need, with homes and try to help them find jobs. 3) elder abuse/ poverty in old age. As the baby boomers old a disproportionate segment of the Canadian population will be senior citizens, we will need an increase in old age homes, medical care etc etc in order to properly take care of these individuals. In general the elderly are often mistreated and overlook even abused and social workers follow up on reports of elder abuse as they do in cases of child abuse. hope those help. and the too much immigration guy is wrong. Canada has a strict immigration policy and the immigrants being let in are highly trained and educated. Also the Canadian population does not sustain itself and immigration is actually needed to fill all the jobs that open up.
