What are the biggest social issues that are affecting the United States and how can we solve these problems?

I have to write a sociology paper pretending that i am running for the president of the united states. My political platform focuses on social issues which are seriously affecting the country. What issues do I feel must be addressed. Choose three. Why are they concerns? What are the statistics? Explain the complexity of the problem. Propose your solutions which you will put forth if elected president. I just can't pick the three i want to work with so any help would be great. Thanks! 1. People still not realizing America is a multi-cultural, multi-racial country. I'd address that one, real quick
2. One of the biggest social issues is the condemnation of religion (particularly Christianity) in this country. Considering that the immigrants came here to escape that, it is amazing that this nations leaders have allowed that to happen here. Another social issue that is impacting this county in a huge way is the global economy. Our leaders are feeding up a load of crap telling us that is what we need. The jobs that used to support families are now outsourced and more an more of our working class folks are losing their homes, and finding themselves on welfare, or not even qualifying for it. You cannot replace family sustainable jobs with jobs at McDonalds or Walmart. That's 2...
3. introduce compulsory voting so we dont get people like bush voted in. make education free so people in poverty slums can get a good job and break the poverty cycle. increase the minimum wage to also remove most the poverty in the country.

Iraq Immigration Social Security Medicare / Medicaid Health Care (quality of / access to) Economy (increase fuel cost / increase goods cost / consumer confidence) National Debt There is short list for you, that outta keep you busy enough!

The war on Islamic terrorism: this should be presented as including the Iraq and Afghanistan wars or conflicts, but also as including the Homeland Defense and the attendant peril of our Constitutional and human rights. 2. The changing economy, including America's dependency on illegal alien labour, the outsourcing of jobs, the sagging housing market, unemployment, welfare, justice for working families, the rights of investors to participate in decision making of corporations. 3. The issues surrounding environmentalism, including the contamination of our air, water, earth. Some of these include issues having to do with forestry, national parks and forests, laws and customs pertaining to industry, urban sprawl, and much much more. (Don't forget global warming). I'm sorry, but I don't have time to get stats for you. I think that should be your job, as you must write the paper. I think you must look to understand the complexity of the problem; that is your job as a student. I think you must come up with solutions, as that is what the teacher or professor assigned YOU to do. I'm not trying to be mean, but rather to move or motivate you to take charge of your own work. 8. Entitlement ~ Americans (some) think just being deemed an American gives them rights. Entitlement to housing, to food, to happiness. Somewhere the thought of working hard and earning has been lost.
