Any ideas for a new skill I could learn?

I need to learn a new skill for my silver D of E (Duke of edinburgh). I need to do it for 6 months and am open to any ideas! Preferably something to help me in later life, mainly career wise. I would also really appriciate ideas for volunteering though I am not supposed to be organizing that!

1. computer programming...or computer graphics...
2. Learn how to play an insturment. Like anything. I could be a flute, clarnet, saxophone, guitar, whatever. but not only are the fun to learn and play, they help you relax and mellow out. MUSIC ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!
