Any ideas for a new years masquerade theme party?
I'm planning a new years party for my mum with a masquerade theme. I have some ideas but I was just wondering if anyone can think of anything that I haven't. What I've thought of so far is having cutouts of masks on the dinner table and using similar cutouts as invitations, decorated with feathers and glitter. Any thoughts? haha!! attilla the hen?? wtf?? lol

- Attila the hen.
- sounds cute and fun!
- -have a table where guests can decorate funny glasses, hats & masks with feathers/glitter,etc. -get a huge cutout that friends can use to sign in -make beaded jewelery -pinata
- When i threw a masquerade i used the theme " the mask of the red death" by edgar allen poe ( although I didn't share the story with them ) - I just told them I was inspired by how each room in the castle was a different color. So I set up my house to have 4 rooms , each with its own color and set up a table in each for 4 . then I served appetizers and drinks at them had them draw colors and sit for one course in that room . then we drew colors and switched for each course. it was a good way to have a party be intimate , but also social .( by forcing people to talk to people they might not have). By the way - either have guests make their masks together at the party or snap their pictures when the arrive because wearing a mask all night is not as fun as it looks in the movies. Good luck
- Love the idea of the masks and invites. For a theme, if not a women only party, how about American Elections? Or, for women only, First ladies? Another fairly easy theme would be characters from a popular book you know that your mother likes; or from a popular author such as Agatha Christie..or even from a t.v.show,such as "Midsommer Murders".
