I need to refresh my knowledge of electronic/electric equipment before interview with upper management team? They want to interview me to make sure I have a proper understanding of electronic/electric equipment. I guess my job is on the line or something. Ok, so all electric/electronic equipment is full of smoke, right. The smoke is what makes the equipment run. If you are sent defective equipment (which happens to me ALL the time for some reason), then the smoke is not properly sealed in. Usually the smoke ends up escaping along with some flying sparks, and the equipment stops working. This happens to me quite often. It's usually right after I wire something up and energize it. Anyway, now the boss wants to interview me with some of his associates to check my understanding. Does anybody know of a website or something that I can use as a quick refresher. That's all I really need.
Need help understanding certain points in 4D data management? I work for a tenant screening company and I use a program called 4D not 4th dimension for graphic design, but a data management program, recently about 3 to 4 months ago I would transfer batches of files from our 4D program over to our RDM server which stores all of our Unlawful Detainer court files. But for some odd reason when we send the batch over to RDM it doesn't always update with the changes that I made in 4D it will only update a certain amount of records. So my main question is why is this happening? is it possible that the server is acting up? or am I missing a step, it would be much helpful if someone who has a decent amount of knowledge towards 4D data management.
Developing a Knowledge Management System? As part of my final semester project I have to develop an application end to end. I've chosen KMS (Knowledge mgmt sys) as my project topic. The thing is programming isn't really my strong point. But its compulsory to develop an application. So, for KMS I was thinking of using PHP and MySQL as languages. I would like to add features like discussion boards, chat, uploading of documents/files in the form of videos, pdf, txt, doc, ppts, etc., browsing and searching, and blogs. What do you suggest I should for developing this - use docuwiki/mediawiki (I can't really understand how to make a portal using that) or should I develop these from scratch?

How would you design the Management Philosophy course? example:This course reviews various schools of philosophy impacting the conceptual and theoretical framework of management. Considering the fact that management as a concept combines on one hand normative action and on the other hand socially constructed practice, the dialogue with the classical philosophical body of knowledge such as that of Aristotle becomes vital for understanding and appreciating the dynamics of contemporary management will be discussed.

To restore motivation, innovation and joy in work and learning, a transformation of management is essential. This transformation requires application of a system of profound knowledge and an understanding of processes and statistics. Areas of understanding include: system optimization, blending statistical analysis with human empowerment, and the practical use of theoretical knowledge. Additionally, transformation requires that management must comprehend human behaviour, cultural forces, motivational techniques and the process of change. The transformation is based on the theory of Dr W. Edwards Deming.
Help with College Application Essay!? If there is anyone who has time and wants to help me edit/give me some tips on my essay, please comment here or add me on AIM: dankbc1 I appreciate all comments, thank you!!! My subversive nature fueled my ideas of entering the corporate world at a young age. Last summer, I was given the opportunity to work for an online business, which sold accessories for phones, PDA's, and mp3 players, owned by my cousin. In the beginning, I thought of it only as a way to earn money and gain some independence from my parents in both financial and nonfinancial aspects of my life. However, as I learned more and more about the growing opportunities in the business industry, I became intrigued and inquisitive about everything and anything pertaining to this new world that I had stumbled upon. During my time employed at Oriongadgets, I learned a lot about affiliate marketing and web design. My cousin was my mentor as well as my employer and he explained to me what it took to start any kind of business. Due to my level of interest in affiliate marketing and my dedication to possibly establishing my own company someday, my cousin offered me a business proposition. If I created a website to advertise his products and increase his business revenue, he would give me commission for every product sold from my website. Throughout the period of time that I designed the website and began advertising it, I grew in many ways and a lot of people saw the difference. These changes took place as I learned to communicate with business affiliates and began on the road to starting my own business. As I grew less and less dependent on my parents, I was given the privilege of taking the car out, stay out later, and given greater independence in my studies and college preparation. I began to understand money management and how to make time for family, friends and myself. Although I did not earn a ton of money, I gained something invaluable, knowledge. My understanding of the business market increased dramatically and my awareness of new career opportunities has grown immensely. I matured as an individual, became independent, and formulated a goal for my future. My first job, as well as my family influenced me incredibly and catapulted my interest level in business management to a whole new level.

What do you think of this UCAS application personal statement? Understanding cinema and television as the unbounded global media that it is has always intrigued me. Even after watching some of my favourite films I immediately purchase them in script form in an effort to understand why these motion pictures can captivate an entire group of spectators in cinemas and homes across the world. Gaining entry to the course would open up a whole new world of knowledge and information , however, the biggest aspect of the course for me would be the chance to work with and learn from experienced individuals who have worked in an industry in which I hope to one day participate. This Degree would undoubtedly give me the confidence and ability to succeed in this industry and also give me the tools needed to write creatively for film and television, either as an individual or as part of a team. Although I have no previous involvement in this subject and have been absent from full time education for over five years, I do exhibit good learning abilities. This can be shown by my HND in Electronics and in the completion of various training courses and ongoing appraisals I currently undergo, which have ensured I have remained in a learning environment which has taken me to the peak of possibilities available in the field in which I work. I have researched the subject I am applying for thoroughly through the prospectus and on-line information from the Faculty of Arts .Having worked in the west end of Glasgow, I am familiar with the area, the University and the bohemian atmosphere that it creates and have a desire to be involved in this lively area that pulses with a multicultural heartbeat. In my current profession, I work alone as part of a specialist team covering the latest products and also covering most of the central belt of Scotland. Working somewhat autonomously requires great self motivation and reliability which is coterminous with the trust in the individual shown by the management. At school I was involved in various extra curricular activities, but the one I am most proud of was the assisted reading program that endeavoured to help younger students with a learning difficulty by improving their reading on a one to one basis. Over the past few years however, the window for these types of activities has been closed mainly due to the fact that my father suffered a near fatal heart attack. Helping him through the first difficult year of recuperation and rehabilitation was the catalyst needed to prompt me to take advantage of company policy and apply for a years career break in which to travel and reassess some personal goals and ambitions. I am fairly active in any free time that I do have and enjoy various sports including playing football twice a week and cycling three times a week. When it gets to winter I enjoy snowboarding with friends over the weekend. Having done some research I am aware that the university has various clubs and associations and, if I am successful in gaining entry to the course, I will be actively looking to join a winter sports club. I love travelling which gives time to pursue my other hobby of photography. I have visited France a few times which has given me the opportunity to brush up on the little French I know, and once drove across the whole country. I have also visited Holland, Belgium, Greece, the Czech Republic and most recently on my career break spent a few months in Australia.

Can you help me understand these Data Management Q's? (standard deviation, z score, z value)? Here are 4 questions I am having problems with. The answers are at the back of the book, but I am more concerned with learning the process of how one would write out these answers. I always learned best that way, unfortunately my teacher does not teach that way in this class, so I have had to do much of my learning from the book. These questions are a little too hard for me to understand from the book, so I'd like someone to help me through the process of answering them. I also have one additional question of my own at the bottom of the page. if you don't have time to answer the written questions, the last one is short, about z-scores and z-values, and would be easier to answer than the rest. #1: Marnie is canvassing for the Canadian Institute for the Blind. Using your knowledge of normal distribution, what range of values should Marnie be prepared to accept this year, if the average donation is $75 with a standard deviation of $15. What percent of smokers will live beyond age 76? #3: The lifespan of computers is normally distributed. If computer monitors have an average lifespan of 4.8 years with a standard deviation of 1.42 years, and your company bought 45 monitors (which includes 8 extra monitors), how long until you need to buy more? #4: An index for comparing professional hockey players uses the formula below. How can one become a "politician" at work without having to lose one's dignity? I know the above sounds a little too "drama", however, here is my situation: I work at an off-shore center for a big American corporation. My current boss, who is the head of the department, knows a lot less about the job than he thinks he does. I am a trainer...reportedly a senior one, at that. Lately, he has been getting some heat from upper management and taking it out on the junior trainers, by pestering them with items that should, per his opinion, be a part of the current training program (we teach a program that has been very efficiently put together and takes five weeks to teach, without including the practical application of the knowledge). We have several assistant trainers and trainers, yet, none of them report to me; whenever an issue arises with any one of them and they seek his help (since some of them report directly to him), he delegates everything to me; yet when it comes to stand our ground from having our partners in production criticize training delivery styles (of which they know very little), he will not set boundaries and take production's side. In my humble opinion, a training manager ought to observe trainers deliver training, teach a management course every now and then, do coachings or one-on-one meetings, as well as staff meetings, support trainers and understand both sides of what training and production perspectives are. He does none of those things and delegates most of them to me and the trainer supervisor for another sub-division. I could really use some advice to see how I can survive having to deal with a boss I have very little professional respect for and who, definitely, does not lead by example. Were it not for the fact that his wife has an 8-5 schedule, he would arrive at 10 and leave at 5 (which he does on her day off). I would really like to grow in the company, but I sincerely feel that, with a severely lacking manager, I may not get too far. Also, whenever he has a presentation with upper management, he will take any ideas my peers have come up with and take credit for them.

For all IT Management people, have you ever been in a situation like this one? I've been into IT for the last 16 years, since programmer to CTO ( My actual position ). For all that time I'd bosses who either were IT people or were CEOs from an IT company, so all my bosses knew something about IT and I could work on IT projects with them knowing what I was doing. Now, I've been for the last 2 months in a company that is a nonprofit organization, my boss who is the COO has no knowledge regarding IT. Recently I had a long conversation with him ( He made the request to do it ), and told me he saw no good things about my work since I got into the company. I told him that I was searching for OLAP tools for the company ( Since there is no tool to do mining into the DB ), also that I was working with our TIC providers for the new site and deciding which shall be best for 3 developments we have, basically I'm doing my job. Have you been into a similar situation? If so, what did you do in order for your non IT boss to understand what are you doing?

Is this the white collar psychopath in a management position ? The Dhammapada Chapter Five -- The Fool Long is the night to the sleepless; long is the league to the weary; long is worldly existence to fools who know not the Sublime Truth. Should a seeker not find a companion who is one's better or equal, let one resolutely pursue a solitary course; there is no fellowship with a fool. The fool worries, thinking, "I have sons, I have wealth." Indeed, when he himself is not his own, whence are sons, whence is wealth? A fool knows his foolishness is wise at least to that extent, but a fool who thinks himself wise is called a fool indeed. Though all his life a fool associate with a wise person, he no more comprehends the Truth than a spoon tastes the flavour of the soup. Though only for a moment a discerning person associate with a wise person, quickly he comprehends the Truth, just as the tongue tastes the flavour of the soup. Fools of little wit are enemies unto themselves as they move about doing evil deeds, the fruits of which are bitter. Ill done is that action doing which one repents later, and the fruits of which one reaps, weeping with tearful face. Well done is that action doing which one repents not later, and the fruits of which one reaps with delight and happiness. So long as an evil deed has not ripened, the fool thinks it as sweet as honey. But when the evil deed ripens, the fool comes to grief. Month after month a fool may eat his food with the tip of a blade of grass, but he still is not worth a sixteenth part of those who have comprehended the Truth. Truly, an evil deed committed does not immediately bear fruit, like milk that does not turn sour all at once. But smouldering, it follows the fool like fire covered by ashes. To his own ruin the fool gains knowledge, for it cleaves his head and destroys his innate goodness. The fool seeks undeserved reputation, precedence among renunciates, authority over monasteries, and honour among householders. "Let both laypersons and renunciates think that it was done by me. In every work, great and small, let them follow me"--such is the ambition of the fool; thus his desire and pride increases. One is the quest for worldly gain, and quite another is the path to Nibbana. Clearly understanding this, let not the renunciate, the disciple of the Buddha, be carried away by worldly acclaim, but develop detachment instead.

Can I have your business please? I want to one day open a flower shop. I understand that I don't exactly need any training in flower arranging. I am going to work in a flower shop for a couple years to get all the information I need about flowers. I don't have any experience or knowledge about running a business. What kind of education would I need for the actual business part? Book keeping, management, finance, or anything?
I like all subjects. MIS, Finance, or Accounting degree work schedules/salaries? Hello, I recently was lucky enough to get a scholarship at the local state university. My current declared major is Management Information Systems. I picked this because I have a lot of IT knowledge, and was told that expected salaries in the NY metro area would be good. I also have experience as an office manager and have found that I have a very good general understanding of business administration. I know I one day want to have my own business, but until then I'll prob be working in Manhattan. I guess I have three separate questions, the premise of which is that I enjoy work in all three areas. 1) Which degree offers the chance for the highest salaries? 2) Are any of these fields likely to require a greater than 40 hour workweek? 3) Which degree would best serve me when I am in fact ready to open that business I dream of?
Question for Executive Level Managers/Directors? My manager is highly unqualified for his position. Over the course of the year that I’ve been with the company his lack of understanding and knowledge on even the most basic processes has become more and more apparent. I’ve done very well in my current role and have achieved very impressive results. Despite that success, and depsite the fact that I'm doing all (not most, but all) of the heavy lifting in our division, I have not seen any inkling of advancement opportunities. It's beyond frustrating and I'm at my wits end with this situation. The thought of reporting to this inept manager any longer makes me sick to my stomach. What's also apparent is that my manager is clearly threatened by my success. Additionally, despite my best efforts not to show it, I believe my manager is quite aware that I really don't have too much respect for him in a professional capacity. All of that said, I had left my previous employer on very good terms and, after I left, the President of the company hinted that if I were ever interested in coming back, that I should definitely give him a call. So right now I’m wrestling with whether or not I should actually do that or bring my concerns regarding my current manager to upper management? My fear in doing that is that I may be branded as someone who is “not a team player” and subsequently shown the door, even though I’m the one with the strong track record of success. Any and all constructive advice would be greatly appreciated.
Business Education (Books/Movies/Documentaries)? I just recently graduated from a top 10 business school with majors in Finance, Operations Management, and Economics. Due to the depressed economy I was unable to find a job. While I am working in a factory with my college degrees, I was wanting to know if there are any educational books/movies/documentaries that you think would be helpful in furthering my knowledge and understanding of the business world. Thanks.

How should I deal with a manager who is unqualified for his position? Should I go over his head? Long story short, last year my company decided to launch a new division. The VP tapped my manager to lead the new initiative. Realizing that he lacked the knowledge or understanding to make this initiative a success, he recognized that he would need to hire someone with the appropriate knowledge and experience to make the initiative viable; hence he hired me. The challenge I face is that while my manager understands the objective that we are trying to achieve he has absolutely no clue as to the processes that are necessary to reach our goals. Up until now, this has not largely been a problem. He has "stayed out of my way" and allowed me to do my job as necessary. However, he is now trying to become more directly involved and that is impeding our progress. I suspect that this is because upper management is aware that I - not he - am the one doing the "heavy lifting" and the one who will ultimately foster the growth and success of our division. Should I bring my concerns to upper management?
What do ya think might be the best career for me? So I'm going through college and can't really settle on my career. Here are some things to help. I'm good with my hands, I like to build things, mostly something with a purpose, like a craft or artisan of some type. I'm extremely creative and want a career that will emphasize on this. I like to help people, either by service or listening to them, and helping them solve their problems. I like to travel and explore and get to meet new people and learn new things from them. I like to expand myself, including my knowledge and understanding. I like to take on challenges. I'm not big into sales or big business and management. I like to shake things up a little bit and do things differently sometimes, i don't like to be a part of a machine. I like music, art, writing and stories, but not always motivated to do it. I'm very spiritual. I like physics theories but not big on math. I like technology I hate sitting around for hours doing paperwork My biggest motivation in life is to help people to be happy. I like to give advice and help change perspective and expand peoples' minds to see outside the box. I don't like war and killing but i like fighting. I like nature and animals and being out in it. I'm methodical in my ways. I'm always do things a little to a lot differently from the "norm". So what career do ya guys think would be a good place to look into? Thanks in advance!

Anyone doing translation jobs? Has anyone worked for a boss whose language knowledge is quite okay, but not enough to appreciate a subtle difference in expression or vocabs? I am working with these managers who ask me to translate the e-mails to send but he always make is so hard. For example, he kept saying to me that I should write "Could you please cooperate with me for this learning?" ,saying my expression of "It would be very much appreciated if you could kindly cooperate with us so that we could have a better understanding on your management environment"... My American and English colleagues told me that my expression is just fine. In the end my boss said "That is fine, then, but this does not me that I have surrendered my authority ...", Don't you think he is weird? He also asked me to give him a tip to master English for his job position with a possibility of promotion. When I kindly gave him some advice that he just have to enjoy studying language, he told me, "This is my job, not a game!"... Sorry, there are quite a few typos... Actually, the first person who answerd to my question is right. Maybe my wording is too long, and terrible. Thank you!
air conditioning problems in 17 floor building? I have an apartment at the decoplage condominium in Miami Beach and a two month ago the AC unit started leaking so badly it took the wall down under the unit. I found that at the same time the building management had sent us an e mail about changes they did to the chilled water pipes ( this is their e mail to the owners :"the HVAC Contractor are now refilling the cooling towersand re-starting all the chilled water lines and chillers. You should begin to notice your units and/or hallways cooling down within the hour." shortly after that not only my unit but various others began having leaking problems. I read up a ittle on HVAC probelems and since the building is 47 years old and the pipes are old and rusted I believe that the pressure caused by the change in the water pressure may have caused the pipes to contract and created the problem we are all exteriencing does anyone have knowledge of this subject and can you help me to better understand and prepare a claim against the building
can you find any mistakes in this translation? this is a translation from italian to english. can you tell me if there are any mistakes, please? (Sorry if it is long) 4- Institute computerized joint training courses, putting to use in project the knowledge and the means to develop them, making the most of the mutual excellences of people operating in the same professional field. 5- Nowadays the English is used like an International communication language, forcing people from different country to speak a language not their own, creating discomforts, practical mistakes and troubles of understanding and speaking. So, we propose to create cultural exchanges directly from language to language, avoiding the obstacle – otherwise required – to speak a third language. So, everybody can speak and listen to in his mother language. 6- Facilitate the search of a qualified translator both the institutions and privates, creating a network of professionalism based on our acquaintances and experts operating in the specialized translation field. The above-mentioned goals become doable through some proposes about the organizational, management and strategic activities of our company. The propose, that we expect to complete within a very short time, can be summarized as follows: 1- Development and strengthening of the website: we think that a valid support on the web, accessible to all, enabling the data storage and the intuitive search of video lessons and training aid, can be a decisive step forward for our project. The service, that the students who are not part of the association will access only on payment, will be available in different languages, depending on the members and relationships. All this is aimed not only to financial gain, but also to an increase in the prestige of the institutions involved. 2- Creation of a database: thus the users can register autonomously, and insert their curriculum vitae, which will be translated into several languages and will be organized systematically by sector and area of responsibility. Creazione di un database: in questo modo gli utenti potranno registrarsi autonomamente, ed inserire i loro curricula vitae, che saranno tradotti in più lingue e verranno organizzati sistematicamente per settore e ambito di competenza. The database can be accessed easily by businesses looking for staff in order to encourage the exchange and the mobility of International professionals. In this way companies may have provided the most competent people to perform a particular activity, setting the search according their most functional criterions. 3- Huge possibilities for the use of associated: we can handle a very large number of translations (the language groups are: (Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Czech, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Slovak, Spanish, Ukrainian, on the rise) on many areas in which we are competent, such as: - telecommunication - tourism - hospitality industry - food - fashion - automotive industry - field of art and literature As a matter of fact people who already have work experience in these areas are part of our association – split into language groups led by native speakers – and who have accumulated a considerable background of knowledge in the field mentioned above. One of the beliefs of our association is the necessity and the opportunity to think big, opportunity – how our work will demonstrate – don’t have to be denied to anyone, especially when, behind a project, big dreams and estimated life are hidden. The peculiarity of GRADg is that, unlike other associations of mediators with similar purposes, it doesn’t work only “from” and “to” the country of origin, but it intends to put in touch different countries, sometimes with little connection between them.

Help with College Application Editing!? If there is anyone who has time and wants to help me edit/give me some tips on my essay, please comment here or add me on AIM: dankbc1 I appreciate all comments, thank you!!! College Application Essay: My subversive nature fueled my ideas of entering the corporate world at a young age. As I grew less and less dependent on my parents, I witnessed them giving me more freedom in my own life. I began to understand money management and how to make time for family, friends and myself. Although I did not earn a ton of money, I gained something invaluable, knowledge. I matured as an individual, became independent, and formulated a goal for my future. My first job, as well as my family influenced me incredibly and catapulted my interest level in business management to a whole new level. p.s. Question is about my person experiences and how they affected me. Any tips will help!!!!
Help Please?? Explain "The Education Of Women"??? Details Inside.? Can someone please explain "The Education Of Women" by Daniel Defoe?? I HAVE often thought of it as one of the most barbarous customs in the world, considering us as a civilized and a Christian country, that we deny the advantages of learning to women. We reproach the sex every day with folly and impertinence; while I am confident, had they the advantages of education equal to us, they would be guilty of less than ourselves. 1 One would wonder, indeed, how it should happen that women are conversible at all; since they are only beholden to natural parts, for all their knowledge. Their youth is spent to teach them to stitch and sew or make baubles. They are taught to read, indeed, and perhaps to write their names, or so; and that is the height of a woman’s education. And I would but ask any who slight the sex for their understanding, what is a man (a gentleman, I mean) good for, that is taught no more? I need not give instances, or examine the character of a gentleman, with a good estate, or a good family, and with tolerable parts; and examine what figure he makes for want of education. 2 The soul is placed in the body like a rough diamond; and must be polished, or the lustre of it will never appear. And ’tis manifest, that as the rational soul distinguishes us from brutes; so education carries on the distinction, and makes some less brutish than others. This is too evident to need any demonstration. But why then should women be denied the benefit of instruction? If knowledge and understanding had been useless additions to the sex, GOD Almighty would never have given them capacities; for he made nothing needless. Besides, I would ask such, What they can see in ignorance, that they should think it a necessary ornament to a woman? or how much worse is a wise woman than a fool? or what has the woman done to forfeit the privilege of being taught? Does she plague us with her pride and impertinence? Why did we not let her learn, that she might have had more wit? Shall we upbraid women with folly, when ’tis only the error of this inhuman custom, that hindered them from being made wiser? 3 The capacities of women are supposed to be greater, and their senses quicker than those of the men; and what they might be capable of being bred to, is plain from some instances of female wit, which this age is not without. Which upbraids us with Injustice, and looks as if we denied women the advantages of education, for fear they should vie with the men in their improvements…. 4 [They] should be taught all sorts of breeding suitable both to their genius and quality. And in particular, Music and Dancing; which it would be cruelty to bar the sex of, because they are their darlings. But besides this, they should be taught languages, as particularly French and Italian: and I would venture the injury of giving a woman more tongues than one. They should, as a particular study, be taught all the graces of speech, and all the necessary air of conversation; which our common education is so defective in, that I need not expose it. They should be brought to read books, and especially history; and so to read as to make them understand the world, and be able to know and judge of things when they hear of them. 5 To such whose genius would lead them to it, I would deny no sort of learning; but the chief thing, in general, is to cultivate the understandings of the sex, that they may be capable of all sorts of conversation; that their parts and judgements being improved, they may be as profitable in their conversation as they are pleasant. 6 Women, in my observation, have little or no difference in them, but as they are or are not distinguished by education. Tempers, indeed, may in some degree influence them, but the main distinguishing part is their Breeding. 7 The whole sex are generally quick and sharp. I believe, I may be allowed to say, generally so: for you rarely see them lumpish and heavy, when they are children; as boys will often be. If a woman be well bred, and taught the proper management of her natural wit, she proves generally very sensible and retentive. 8 And, without partiality, a woman of sense and manners is the finest and most delicate part of GOD’s Creation, the glory of Her Maker, and the great instance of His singular regard to man, His darling creature: to whom He gave the best gift either GOD could bestow or man receive. And ’tis the sordidest piece of folly and ingratitude in the world, to withhold from the sex the due lustre which the advantages of education gives to the natural beauty of their minds. 9 A woman well bred and well taught, furnished with the additional accomplishments of knowledge and behaviour, is a creature without comparison. Her society is the emblem of sublimer enjoyments, her person is angelic, and her conversation heavenly. She is all softness and sweetness, peace, love, wit, and delight. She is every way suitable to the sublimest wish, an
How's this for a resignation letter? Any changes or advice would be great? Dear Sir/Madam, I recently secured a temporary position as a data entry clerk with company A and commenced my assignment today (Friday 22nd of January 2010). I'm not sure if I have been dialling the wrong number but I called the office a few times today on the number specified on an company B card given to me but I didn't manage to get through, so i've decided to use the email address instead. I was trying to ring in order to ask if I could be offered another assignment elsewhere and away from this company. I felt completely out of place in the office I although I was treated with respect by Gaynor Faye, the office environment caused me distress. I was not shown what to do, I was expected to log data from distorted emails (which i'm sure I logged incorrectly due to lack of knowledge!), the management were nowhere to be found for help and we were only informed of one set break which we could take ''when we wanted''. There were no other breaks and no other instructions and I felt that I let both companies down today.(A) fOR logging inadequate and false information into 60 data entry forms and (B) for my understandable lack of enthusiasm. At one point I was so stressed out, I nearly fell asleep at the computer. I cannot pretend to have found this very funny. Also, I have never worked in such a quiet, isolated place in my life. When I walked in at 8:45AM, I was sure i'd walked into the wrong place. It was so very quiet and very few people spoke or communicated in any way. As a result, I could not ask for help without feeling awkward and one man was very busy and I kept having to pester him as my computer crashed at least four times. I am very embarrassed by the situation and completely put off going back. If no other position can be found for me, I will totally understand. This is not the way I usually operate and I feel partly responsible for taking on the assignment in the first place when I did not know what to expect. I realize this is not an ideal situation to be in but frankly, the assignment was a mind numbingly awkward experience that I do not wish to go through again. Lastly, I would like to make it clear that I will not be returning to Company A! If you could aknowledge reciept of this email, I would be very greatful.

So why did the chicken cross the road? * KINDERGARTEN TEACHER: To get to the other side. * PLATO: For the greater good. * ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross roads. * KARL MARX: It was a historical inevitability. * TIMOTHY LEARY: Because that's the only trip the establishment would let it take. * SADDAM HUSSEIN: This was an unprovoked act of rebellion and we were justified in dropping 50 tons of nerve gas on it. * JACK NICHOLSON: 'cause it f___ing wanted to. That's the f___ing reason. * RONALD REAGAN: I forget. * CAPTAIN JAMES T. KIRK: To boldly go where no chicken has gone before. * HIPPOCRATES: Because of an excess of phlegm in its pancreas. * ANDERSEN CONSULTANT: Deregulation of the chicken's side of the road was threatening its dominant market position. The chicken was faced with significant challenges to create and develop the competencies required for the newly competitive market. Andersen Consulting, in a partnering relationship with the client, helped the chicken by rethinking its physical distribution strategy and implementation processes. Using the Poultry Integration Model (PIM), Andersen helped the chicken use its skills, methodologies, knowledge, capital and experiences to align the chicken's people, processes and technology in support of its overall strategy within a Program Management framework. Andersen Consulting convened a diverse cross-spectrum of road analysts and best chickens along with Anderson consultants with deep skills in the transportation industry to engage in a two-day itinerary of meetings in order to leverage their personal knowledge capital, both tacit and explicit, and to enable them to synergize with each other in order to achieve the implicit goals of delivering and successfully architecting and implementing an enterprise-wide value framework across the continuum of poultry cross-median processes. The meeting was held in a park-like setting, enabling and creating an impactful environment which was strategically based, industry-focused, and built upon a consistent, clear, and unified market message and aligned with the chicken's mission, vision, and core values. This was conducive towards the creation of a total business integration solution. Andersen Consulting helped the chicken change to become more successful. * LOUIS FARRAKHAN: The road, you see, represents the black man. The chicken 'crossed' the black man in order to trample him and keep him down. * MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.: I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads without having their motives being called into question. * MOSES: And God came down from the Heavens, and He said unto the chicken, "Thou shalt cross the road." And the chicken crossed the road, and there was much rejoicing. * FOX MULDER: You saw it cross the road with your own eyes. How many more chickens have to cross the road before you believe it? * RICHARD M. NIXON: The chicken did not cross the road. I repeat, the chicken did NOT cross the road. * MACHIAVELLI: The point is that the chicken crossed the road. Who cares why? The end of crossing the road justifies whatever motive there was. * JERRY SEINFELD: Why does anyone cross a road? I mean, why doesn't anyone ever think to ask, What the heck was this chicken doing walking around all over the place, anyway?" * FREUD: The fact that you are at all concerned that the chicken crossed the road reveals your underlying sexual insecurity. * BILL GATES: I have just released the new Chicken Office 2000, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. * BILL CLINTON: I'm going to say something important. And I'll say it again to make sure you understand. I did not have sexual relations with that chicken. I did not. * GEORGE W. BUSH (2): We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either with us or it is against us. There is no middle ground here. * OLIVER STONE: The question is not, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" Rather, it is, "Who was crossing the road at the same time, whom we overlooked in our haste to observe the chicken crossing?" * DARWIN: Chickens, over great periods of time, have been naturally selected in such a way that they are now genetically disposed to cross roads. * EINSTEIN: Whether the chicken crossed the road or the road moved beneath the chicken depends upon your frame of reference. * BUDDHA: Asking this question denies your own chicken nature. * RALPH WALDO EMERSON: The chicken did not cross the road .. it transcended it. * ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die. In the rain. * NEW SOUTH AFRICAN POLITICIAN: It is the Apartheid regime which made the chicken cross the road when the chicken did not want to cross the road, the chicken is oppressed and the only way to free the chicken is for the whites to pay restitution for oppressing the chicken and investigate police involvement in the death of chickens. It is racist to imply that chickens are involved in any crimes and corruption. * OLD SOUTH AFRICAN POLITICIAN: It is our belief that chickens should be allowed to cross roads in their own areas with their own roads. If they wish to cross roads in other areas they must carry a pass and will be subject to arrest if they dont. We would like to state categorically that meddling in our affairs by any persons will not be tolerated and we will arrest and detain anybody for a period of 90 days without trail so that these allegations can be investigated. * COSATU: To steal a job from a decent, hardworking, South African. * RAY MACAULEY: Because the chicken was gay! Isn't it obvious? Can't you people see the plain truth in front of your face? The chicken was going to the "other side." That's what "they" call it, "the other side." Yes, my friends, that chicken is gay. And, if you eat that chicken, you will become gay too. I say we boycott all chickens until we sort out this abomination that the liberal media whitewashes with seemingly harmless phrases like "the other side." That chicken should not be free to cross the road. It's as plain and simple as that. * DR SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes! The chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed, I've not been told! * DR NELSON MANDELA: Never again, will the chicken be questioned for crossing the road. This is an ideal for which I am prepared to die. * GRANDPA SIMPSON: In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Someone told us that the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough for us. * BISHOP TUTU: We need a society where people will learn to forgive all the chickens that crossed the road. However, forgiveness will be granted to chickens that convince the nation that their reasons for crossing the road were politically motivated * PAN AFRICAN CONGRESS: The road, you will see, represents the black man. The chicken crossed the "black man" in order to trample him and keep him down. * ROBERT MUGABE: For all of these years the road has been owned by the white farmers, the poor underpriveleged chicken has waited too long for that road to be given to him and now he is crossing it in force with his fellow war veteran chickens. We intend taking over this road and giving it to the roadless chickens so that they can cross it without fear of retribution from Britain who promised money to institute road reform. We will not stop until all roadless chickens have roads to cross and the freedom to cross them. We will also return to the Socialist ideal of a road so that all chickens who live in our country can benefit from the grand ideals which I have decided upon. * ISAAC NEWTON: Any chicken in the universe shall always cross a road perpendicularly to the side of the road, and in an infinitely long straight line at uniform speed, unless the chicken stops due to an unbalanced reactive force in the opposite direction of the chicken's motion * HEISENBERG: No one will ever know for sure whether he actually got to the other side * SNOOPY: It was a dark, stormy night. Somewhere in the rain, a chicken crossed a road * JULIE ANDREWS: Chick, a cheer, a female cheer ... * MOHAMMED ALDOURI (Iraq Ambassador): The chicken did not cross the road. This is a complete fabrication. We don't even have a chicken. * COLONEL SANDERS: I missed one?
air conditioning problems?

Does my letter of motivation looks strong enough or does it need any changes? I apply for grad school and have to wrire motivation letter. Can anyone look through it and see if there any grammar mistakes or if the structure is unclear? Director of the Program xx KTH December 18, 2009 Dear Sir or Madam: I have been at my last year of school at American University in Bulgaria, with a major of Business Administration. During my studies majority of the courses were focused on the main challenges and concerns related to the successful global functioning of organizations, critical skills needed to properly start and manage ventures and analytical tools and models used in problem solving. My undergraduate education at American University in Bulgaria has not only given me a certain set of valuable skills but has also helped me to understand my academic strengths and weaknesses and my fields of interest. While taking a course of Marketing I received a deep insight into creating, developing and assessing projects. Besides studying the theory, I had to create a product which would be innovative and successful on global market, evaluating all the advantages of disadvantages in terms of cultural aspects, geographical location, customer demand in particular region and many other crucial factors which help to determine the successful realization of the product. Operational Supply Management was the other useful courses where I acquired the necessary skills to start and manage projects following the key management concept of planning, organizing , leading and controlling. My study abroad experience at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky has given me additional knowledge in my field and has made my communication skills more effective. Taking such courses as Management Science and Management helped me to understand how important it is for the company to be more innovative and entrepreneurial. I acquired necessary skills of how these invention can properly function, how they can be managed and how they can be realized within specific organization. In addition to that, frequent work in groups for creating a project have built good team work understanding and involvement I believe that possession of such critical skills an effective communication, creativity and collaboration can qualify me as a candidate to your program. I am someone who is able to learn quickly and adapt to new environments and perform under pressure. I love to be challenged, to explore new ideas, I am always eager to learn and engage in several activities, which helps me to manage my time more efficiently and be more productive. Furthermore, studying in American University in Bulgaria gave me sufficient amount of quantitative knowledge and assisted in developing my analytical thinking skills needed to properly analyze and assess innovative projects. After completing the Master`s Programme my goal is to start my career in one of the innovative companies, where I will be able to utilize my practical and theoretical knowledge to attain the prosperity of organization. With education in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, I will gain a relevant knowledge of innovation and entrepreneurship combined with strong real world experience that will help me to build my further development as innovation leader and provide with a basis for the start-up of my own business venture . Can my roommates give out my social security #? I currently rent a room from a couple who has a two bedroom apartment. Their apartment complex does not require them to add me to the lease. They are technically my "landlord", however, today they went to a food bank and literally demanded that i give them my social security number and my boyfriends who lives with me to verify who lives in the apartment. however we all buy food separately and they did not inform me that they were planning to give out my information. I refused to give them my social security number and they said well we have it we just forgot to bring it with us, in which case they were planning to give it out without our knowledge. I would like to know if this is legal, since we are technically renting from them and as our "landlord" can they : 1. give out our ss# to verify for their own personal qualifications who lives at their address. and 2. Can they give out our information without our knowledge? I understand if you live in an apartment complex, but the management company would have the right to verify who is living where, but if these people we rent from are applying for their own food qualifications(etc) would that fall under the category of "landlord rights" or "roommate information"? please help!
